Scrabble to the Finish

Scrabble to the Finish

Yesterday I played my first ever game of Scrabble.

Had I known in advance that it would take an hour, I'd have gently fobbed my sister off. However, she caught me at a good time.

Having committed, I listened as she listed off a long series of instructions - this while baking in the sun. Needless to say, I was now beginning to regret my decision and was already looking for a hasty exit.

But as soon as we got going, it was surprisingly fun. In the end, it turned into an enjoyable and educational hour. I learnt the word 'Queef'.

Coding doesn't need to be about dedicating 10 hour blocks of time and powering through it with stoic discipline. Often quoted, but as relevant to coding as any other discipline -

'The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'

Fire up your IDE of choice, and commit to playing around for five minutes. Who knows where those few minutes could take you?

You might even learn something new, though probably not as paradigm-shifting as queef.
